La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo “Comprender la importancia de preservar la identidad, tradiciones y patrimonio cultural Wayuu, a partir del etnoturismo, aplicando la unidad didáctica como estrategia pedagógica entre los estudiantes de la Institución Etnoeducativa Nuestra Señora de Fátima sede Presiaru, corregimiento de Aremashain, municipio de Manaure, La Guajira” se desarrolló bajo la perspectiva epistémica cualitativa, fundamentado en el método etnográfico, empleando técnicas e instrumentos de esta metodología; participaron 7 sujetos vinculados directamente con la realidad estudiada. Entre los resultados, se identificaron las características de la cultura wayuu que hacen parte de la identidad, patrimonio cultural y turístico de la región, los conceptos de diferentes aspectos y manifestaciones que fortalecen la “Identidad y Patrimonio Cultural” de este pueblo originario transmitido de generación en generación, puntualizando los cambios y transformaciones con el transcurrir del tiempo por la influencia cultural criolla o “Alijuna”; asimismo, destaca que el turismo ha permitido dar a conocer esta cultura ancestral sus manifestaciones y tradiciones, subrayando: bailes, cantos, gastronomía, vestimenta típica, maquillaje y prendas; entre los usos y costumbres que permanecen se encuentran: desde su cosmovisión
rituales de Sanación de la “Outsü”, la “piachi” y el palabrero como figuras de relevancia, el matrimonio, velorios y encierro / blanqueo, como principales ceremonias sociales. Actualmente, existen factores que inciden en la cultura wayuu, destacando el desplazamiento de familias y jóvenes del territorio ancestral para suplir las necesidades socio-económicas, incidiendo en la perdida de transmisión de saberes y desvaloración de sus usos y costumbres por la transculturación, el desuso de la lengua materna "wayunaiki”, vestimenta típica, entre otros; en consecuencia, se propuso la Unidad didáctica “Un pueblo una cultura los wayuu, como estrategia pedagógica desde el enfoque del etnoturismo para promover el fortalecimiento, cuidado y valoración de la identidad cultural wayuu como patrimonio cultural y turístico de la región”.

Among the results, the characteristics of the Wayuu culture that are part of the identity, cultural and tourist heritage of the region, the concepts of different aspects and manifestations that strengthen the "Identity and Cultural Heritage" of this native people transmitted from generation to generation were identified. in generation, pointing out the changes and transformations over time due to the Creole cultural influence or "Alijuna"; Likewise, it highlights that tourism has made it possible to publicize this ancestral culture, its manifestations and traditions, emphasizing: dances, songs, gastronomy, typical clothing, makeup and garments; Among the uses and customs that remain are: from their worldview, healing rituals of the "Outsü", the "piachi" and the “palabrero” as relevant figures, marriage, wakes and confinement / whitewashing, as main social ceremonies. Currently, there are factors that affect the Wayuu culture, highlighting the displacement of families and young people from the ancestral territory to meet socio-economic needs, affecting the loss of transmission of knowledge and devaluation of their uses and customs due to transculturalization, loss of the mother tongue "wayuunaiki", typical clothing, among others; Consequently, the Didactic Unit "A Wayuu people, a culture" was proposed as a pedagogical strategy from the ethno-tourism approach to promote the strengthening, care and appreciation of the Wayuu cultural identity as cultural and tourist heritage of the region.
