This research is established within the framework of the new Sociology and Anthropology of childhood, which considers boys and girls as subjects that deserve to be studied due to the active role they play in their social environment. Consequently, the Afro-Colombian children's culture and two of its dimensions (agency, understood as the ability to act, decide, participate and interpret that children have in a given context and social stereotypes) were interpreted from the ideas, the conceptions, the knowledge and voices of Afro-Colombian boys and girls within socialization scenarios: family and play. The methodology implemented in this research is qualitative with an ethnographic approach, a sample of the African child population was chosen with which semi structured interviews, participant observation and focus groups were carried out as information collection instruments. The analysis of the children's responses was made taking into account the different theoretical contributions on childhood, children's culture, peer culture, giving recognition to children as reliable informants. It is concluded that the infantile culture of Afro children is permeated by the context where they are immersed, this causes them to choose what to accept as their own and what not, the role of agent allows Afro children to modify, resignify and transform some aspects of the Afro-descendant culture and shape their group identity.
