The different transformations that the family has undergone as the main environment for human development are evident, one of these changes is in its structure, since different types of families have been established, such as single-parent, reconstituted and unipersonal families. These new structures were created thanks to an increase in a factor called divorce or separation, both whose main characteristic is the disengagement of a couple. Due to this event, male and female children have suffered a variety of consequences, whether academic, behavioral, or social, but it has also been demonstrated that infants may have resilient behavior when facing this type of adversity. In this sense, the research project is focused on showing the resilience that male and female children have in relation to the separation of their parents; in this way it is intended to show that children have feelings, thoughts, and opinions about issues that, according to adults, do not concern them but in reality this situation involves them. This study was carried out with a children population, between 7 and 10 years old, from two schools, a private and a public school in the city of Pereira, and the participants are members of separated parents who have gone through this difficult process. The methodology used was a qualitative, exploratory research. Data collection was done through instruments such as semi directed interviews, participant observation, the drawing test, a focus group and a puppet play.
