The present study is a project of the line of investigation of the didactics of the Natural Sciences of the Master in education with the Technological University of Pereira that assumed as objective To understand how the capacity of argumentation is transformed in the students of the seventh grade on the concept of biodiversity from maize varieties through the implementation of a didactic unit assumed from the ANAA AKUA'IPA project in the Akua'ipa boarding school ethno-educational institution of Albania, La Guajira. The research had a qualitative approach following the learning model divided into four phases: called moments of exploration of previous ideas, introduction of new knowledge, synthesis and application and transfer, and during three moments, information was collected with the instruments (questionnaire, interview sequence, didactic contract) to three students who made up the work unit, in order to analyze, interpret and understand how the ability to argue about the concept of corn biodiversity was transformed. In the first moment, low performance in the argumentative capacity was evidenced, for which activities were implemented in the second phase of the learning cycle focused on favoring the subcategories, these activities involved argumentative situations of the context, traditional knowledge and scientific knowledge about the varieties of corn, their uses and their conservation, which allowed the student to improve their ability to argue in this second stage. In the third moment at the end of the intervention and after the comprehensive analysis of the analysis of the results, it was possible to conclude that the students advanced significantly improving the use of data and basic knowledge to justify conclusions, so it can be affirmed that it favored the capacity of the argumentation on the concept of corn biodiversity, in addition, the implementation of a didactic unit strengthens the didactic route or criterion for the planning of Ethnoscience from the Anaa Akua'ipa project.
