El objetivo del presente estudio es formular estrategias de gestión para el fortalecimiento del turismo sostenible en el municipio de La Virginia, Risaralda; esto por medio de la ejecución de
actividades como recolección de información primaria y secundaria al igual que análisis del turismo local desde varios enfoques comparativos como: comparación del municipio con otros
municipios de características similares, comparación en perspectiva histórica de la competitividad turística del municipio de acuerdo a las calificaciones arrojadas por el estudio del ICTRC y
tendencias del turismo local. Dichas actividades fueron de utilidad para identificar asuntos que fueran relevantes para la gestión del turismo en el territorio llevando a cabo por último la
formulación de estrategias de gestión con el fin de brindar un insumo a la administración local para la toma de decisiones y ejecución de acciones acordes a las necesidades del territorio en
cuanto a competitividad turística.
Finalmente es importante decir que las estrategias formuladas se encuentran alineadas con las estrategias que se plantean para el turismo a nivel nacional lo que puede significar una
oportunidad para el municipio si estas son ejecutadas, pudiendo obtener financiamiento desde entidades o instituciones de orden nacional, regional o departamental.
The objective of this study is to formulate management strategies to strengthen sustainable tourism in the municipality of La Virginia, Risaralda; This through the execution of activities such as the collection of primary and secondary information as well as analysis of local tourism from various comparative approaches such as: comparison of the municipality with other municipalities with similar characteristics, comparison in historical perspective of the tourist competitiveness of the municipality according to to the scores obtained by the ICTRC study and local tourism trends. These activities were useful to identify issues that were relevant for the management of tourism in the territory, finally carrying out the formulation of management strategies in order to provide input to the local administration for decision-making and execution of actions. according to the needs of the territory in terms of tourist competitiveness. Finally, it is important to say that the strategies formulated are aligned with the strategies that are proposed for tourism at the national level, it can mean an opportunity for the municipality if they are executed, being able to obtain financing from entities or institutions of a national, regional or departmental order.
